Wilcox Public Library
...get a library card? Any resident (or camp owner) of Jones Township three years or older may request a library card by providing identification with a current address. The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for children between the ages of 3 and 14. The Wilcox Public Library participates in the Access PA Statewide Borrowing Program. Your Wilcox Public Library card is accepted at hundreds of libraries in Pennsylvania that participate in the program. Non-residents may obtain membership by using a valid Access PA card from another library or by paying $25.00 (for a per household) membership fee. Lost or stolen cards and changes of address should be reported to the library as soon as possible. Replacements for lost cards are $1.00.
...know when to return my items I borrowed and if I owe any fines? Loan periods and fines vary by item type. Due dates will be listed on the print receipt you receive when checking out. You can also see your check outs and due dates through your account (you will have to request access at the library) at www.wilcoxlibrary.org (click the online catalog link, then the login link at the top of the page). Use your library card number (no spaces between numbers) and your PIN (which you will have to request at the library). Loan periods and check out limits vary for different materials:
|Material||Loan Period||Late Fee||Maximum Fee||Limits|
|Books||14 Days||10¢ per day||$25.00||10|
|Audiobooks||14 Days||10¢ per day||$25.00||10|
|Magazines||14 Days||10¢ per day||$10.00||10|
|DVDs||7 Days||$1.00 per day||$25.00||3|
...renew materials? Most materials can be renewed two times; DVDs can be renewed once, and items with holds cannot be renewed. To renew, go to your account online, or call us. If items cannot be renewed, they will continue to be due on the original date and will accrue fines.
...reserve an item? (Holds) Most items can be placed on hold using our online catalog or by speaking with a library staff member. You will receive a notification by phone when your hold becomes available. (NOTE: availability showing in your account does not always mean the hold is actually available for pick-up; it may be in process). Items will be held for 7 days.
...request an interlibrary loan? If Wilcox Public Library doesn’t own an item that you want, you may be able to borrow it from one of the many public, school, special, or academic libraries throughout Pennsylvania. The AccessPA Library Catalog offers loaning of material (books, DVDs, CDs and more) for our resident borrowers. Loan periods for these items are determined by AccessPA policies (normally 30 days); renewals may not be available.
